Cook II | Great Falls MT Air National Guard Job Category: Food Preparation Requisition Number: COOKI002861 Posted: November 27, 2024 Part-Time Location: 164 - Great Falls ANG, 2800 AIRPORT AVENUE B, Great Falls, MT 59404, USA Hourly Rate: $17.69 Schedule: One weekend a month POSITION SUMMARY: The Cook II will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Comply with all authorized regulations, directives, and standard operating procedures. Cook to order various food items including hamburgers, salads, and eggs. Prepare large quantities of meat, poultry, fish, starches, vegetables, and other related items. Produce small to large batch goods using classical cooking techniques. Ensure required items are prepared according to the production log. Check work of subordinates by inspecting food quality and quantity. Ensure compliance with worldwide menus and standard recipes. Request subsistence from storeroom personnel and assign preparation tasks. Ensure food is prepared on time and serving lines are properly set up. Instruct and ensure progressive cooking techniques are used. Maintain food safety standards and ensure proper food handling procedures are followed. Conduct job training and ensure a secure facility at the close of meals. Comply with energy conservation and recycling programs. Participate in safety meetings and training. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Ability to effectively delegate and develop team members. Must have commercial cooking experience and ServSafe Food Handler Certification. Ability to work a flexible schedule and knowledge of Microsoft Office. EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: High school education or GED required; culinary degree preferred. 1 year relevant work experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.
